By using the Firestar Wireless Network, you consent to the collection, use, disclosure, storage and processing of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Definitions

In this Privacy Policy where the following terms are used, they shall have the following meanings:
- "Host" means the business owner who is the customer of the Provider, and who supplies wireless internet access to their customers/guests through the Firestar Wireless Network. Where a Host is a franchisee, this definition of "Host" shall also include the franchisor of the Host.
- "us", "we', "our" or "Provider" means MGE Engineering Limited trading as Firestar.
- "Website" means www.firestar.co.nz or www.winsite.co.nz.

Information we collect

By using the Firestar Wireless Network, you agree to the Provider collecting your personal information:
- through your use of the Firestar Wireless Network; and
- by using Facebook data at the time you log onto the Firestar Wireless Network.

Such personal information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, age, gender, phone number, any other information on, or pertaining to, your Facebook account, and any information relating to your use of the Firestar Wireless Network and the content you access.

The Provider may also collect and process the following types of information during your use of the Firestar Wireless Network:
- Personal information that you provide by filling in any forms, or reporting a problem with the Firestar Wireless Network.
- If you contact the Provider, the Provider may keep a record of that correspondence.
- Details of your use of the Firestar Wireless Network.

What we do with the information we collect

This information will be stored by the Provider and used to:
- create an account for you, to enable you to use the Firestar Wireless Network;
- track each time you make a purchase entitling you to access the Firestar Wireless Network, the amount of time you spend using the Firestar Wireless Network, the amount of data used, and time and place of access;
- analyse trends and user traffic and gather statistical information
- verify your identity;
- enforce or apply the Terms of Use;
- protect the rights, property or safety of the Provider, other users or others;
- conduct internal research;
- promote and market services to you;
- ensure that content accessed via the Firestar Wireless Network is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your device;
- provide you with any services;
- deal with requests, complaints and other customer activities; and
- provide you with technical support.

You expressly agree to allow the Provider to provide and/or licence your personal information to the Host who may use the information for the purposes of:
- marketing (including direct marketing), business development, improving their services, advertising and sales; and
- analysing trends and gathering statistical information.

The Provider may also disclose your personal information when the Provider believes it is appropriate for legal compliance and law enforcement, to facilitate court proceedings, to enforce or apply our Terms of Use or to protect the rights, property or safety of the Provider, users of the Firestar Wireless Network or others.

Non-personal data is collected for reporting about usability, performance, and effectiveness of the Firestar Wireless Network. It is used to improve the customer experience and usability of the Firestar Network.

If you do not consent to the use of your personal information as described in this clause please do not access the Firestar Wireless Network.

The Provider is committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure the Provider has put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information it collects.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although the Provider will do its best to protect your personal data, the Provider cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted via the Firestar Wireless Network; any transmission is at your own risk.

How we use Cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's (or portable device's) hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The Provider uses traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps the Provider analyse data about web page traffic and improve our Website and the Firestar Wireless Network in order to tailor it to customer needs. The Provider only uses this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

The content of this Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, so the Provider suggests that you read this Privacy Policy on a regular basis and carefully read the information provided.
